Bartender/Front Desk Clerk

Job Responsibilities

• Greet, register, and assign rooms to guests.
• Answer telephone.
• Post charges (i.e. room, food, telephone), compute bill, collect payment, and make change for guests.
• Make and confirm reservations.
• Monitor room availability; block rooms.
• Program wake-up calls.
• Handle guest mail and messages.
• Perform check-out services.
• Open and close shifts making cash drops as necessary.
• Prepare cocktails in accordance with standard beverage recipes.
• Wash glassware as needed.
• Prepare and serve bar food items.
• Assist and in the set-up and closing of the bar using provided checklists.
• Complete daily inventory prep sheet.
• Properly record all sales transactions and secure accurate payment.
• Familiarize and be knowledgeable of current food and beverage offerings, including wine lists and cocktail menu.
• Provide information pertaining to hours and available services of the hotel and surrounding areas.
• Assist in maintaining the cleanliness of the lobby, front entrance, railyard and surrounding areas.
• Assist in checking all lobby fixtures, equipment and conditions (lights, heating/cooling, furniture, wallpaper, etc.) for proper operation, settings and maintenance. Report deficiencies.

Job Requirements

• 1 to 3 months related experience; high school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Solid organizational, time-management and prioritization skills.
• Exceptional customer service skills.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic computer and administrative skills.
• Availability to work a flexible schedule.
