Job Description

Mirantis Inc. seeks a DevOps Engineer at its facility located at 14205 North Mopac Expressway, Austin, TX 78728. The DevOps Engineer will provide technical guidance and DevOps consulting to enterprise class customers and their development and operations teams. Lead proof of concept and pilot implementations of the platform within key customer accounts. Present platform strategy, concepts, and roadmap to technical leaders with the customer’s organization. Develop best practices and guidance for containerizing various application platforms. Design and implement best practices around troubleshooting application issues, CICD, logging, monitoring, security and capacity analysis for a Kubernetes rich environment. Enhance Kubernetes by developing and maintaining Kubernetes extensions (CRDs, operators and webhooks). Work on various Kubernetes distributions such as open source, public cloud (EKS, AKS, GKE), Rancher, and OpenShift. Establish best practices around the usage of Lens and extensions to enhance Kubernetes. Serve as a customer advocate to other Mirantis teams including Product Development, Sales & Marketing. Enable partners to develop service delivery skills through mentorship, training, and engagement shadowing. Help propagate skills and experience through development of repeatable assets such as methodologies, blueprints, tools, white papers, and knowledge articles. Telecommuting permitted 

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

Education: Bachelor’s degree or foreign degree equivalent in Computer Science, Telecommunication, Electronic Engineering, or related field.

Experience: Five (5) years of post-baccalaureate progressive experience in job offered, Software Engineer, Software Developer, Systems Engineer, or in a related occupation.

Academic training or work experience in the following: 

1. Kubernetes

2. Docker

3. CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Gitlab CI, or CircleCI)

4. Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)

5. Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK stack

6. Git

7. Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible
