Job Description

JOB SUMMARY
The Landscape Specialist at North Mississippi Health Services is responsible for maintaining high quality landscaping and efficient area operations. This role engages strong technical knowledge and organizational and communication skills to design, implement and maintain landscaping, including plant materials and support systems, interpret documentation and codes to implement accurately, train other staff members, and complete tasks and activities in a time and budget-conscious manner, providing appealing and effective landscaping for the system.
JOB FUNCTIONS
Landscape Management:
Maintains, installs, and diagnoses plant material and support systems.
Recommends design improvements to the overall landscape aspects.
Reviews and utilizes the design documentation, site performance, and efficiency evaluations.

Document Interpretation:
Interprets and applies related codes, drawings, specifications, and manufacturer publications.

Equipment Management:
Operates landscape equipment accurately and efficiently.
Understands and demonstrates the use of controls and management systems.

Budget:
Complies with departmental budget. Educations:
Educates and trains junior staff members as needed.

Regulation:
Adheres to NMHS/NMMC Policies/Procedures/Guidelines.
Complies with applicable Local/State/Federal policies/procedures/guideline/regulations/laws/statues.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

High School Diploma or GED Equivalentor equivalent. Required

Associate's Degree. Preffered

Licenses and Certifications

DL NUMBER - Driver License, Valid and in StateValid Mississippi Drivers License with approved driving history. Required

Work Experience

4-6 years. Required

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

  • Good organizational and communication (written and verbal) skills; required

  • Working knowledge of landscape management, maintenance, installation (as described in Essential Functions); required

  • Excellent interpersonal skills; required

  • Must be able to work outside in extreme weather conditions

  • Must have good mechanical, planning, organizational, & basic computer skills

  • Must plan, organize, and implement maintenance and related projects

  • Must work independently as well as in group setting

  • Must educate/train junior staff members as needed

  • Must oversee staff or contractors in the absence of the Supervisor

  • Must have extensive contact with: patients, visitors, vendors, consultants, contractors, and all other NMHS/NMMC Staff

  • Must have good written and verbal communication skills

  • Must reflect a positive, caring attitude toward clients, patients, staff and the public we serve
