Job Title: Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) – 1. OB/GYN 2. Outpatient Clinic

Location: Cedars-Sinai Medical Network, Beverly Hills, CA
Facility: Cedars-Sinai Medical Center – Outpatient Clinic
Employment Type: Contract Assignment
Start Date: 09/02/2025
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Day, 5x8-hour shifts (between 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM)

Job Overview

Cedars-Sinai Medical Network is seeking an experienced Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) for its OB/GYN outpatient clinic in Los Angeles, CA. This is a contract position with opportunities to float to other Cedars-Sinai clinics as needed.

The ideal candidate will have strong women’s health and OB/GYN experience , be comfortable with specialized procedures, and possess excellent patient care and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing support in an outpatient OB/GYN clinic setting

• Assist with specialized procedures: PAP, Colposcopy, Leep, D&C, EMB, IUD insertions/removals, Nexplanon, and NST

• Perform IV therapy and phlebotomy (blood draws, specimen collection, labeling)

• Administer vaccines, IM & SQ medications, and monitor vital signs

• Conduct patient assessments (health history, allergies, pain, pregnancy-related symptoms)

• Support physicians with patient triage, follow-up phone calls, and lab result interpretation

• Maintain accurate documentation in Epic charting system

• Float to other Cedars-Sinai Medical Network clinics as required

Requirements

• License: Active California LVN license (IV/Blood Draw certification required)

• Experience: Minimum 2 years overall LVN experience, including at least 1 year in OB/GYN

• Certifications:

  • BLS (American Heart Association)

  • IV Certified

  • Phlebotomy Certification (preferred)

• Technical Skills: Epic EMR (preferred), vaccine administration, medication reconciliation

Preferred Skills

• Endocrine/Metabolic knowledge (blood glucose monitoring/testing)

• OB/GYN-specific patient care: pregnancy-induced hypertension, vaginal bleeding, spontaneous abortion, reproductive health

• Telephone triage and patient education

Unit & Facility Details

• Setting: Outpatient OB/GYN clinic (Cedars-Sinai Medical Network)

• Patient Age Groups: Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics

• Scrub Color: Burgundy

• Charting: Epic

• Parking: Free or validated

• Orientation: 12 hours (non-billable)

• Float: Required to other Cedars-Sinai outpatient clinics within network (e.g., Los Feliz)

Compliance Requirements

• Valid permanent CA LVN license (temporary licenses not accepted)

• Proof of COVID-19 vaccination card (required at submission)

• Flu vaccination requirement: TBD by facility

• Must be separated from any Cedars-Sinai facility for at least 1 year before applying if previously employed

• Modules: Billable (2 hours), completed during orientation
