Network Engineer
Overview
We are seeking a motivated Network Engineer to join a dynamic infrastructure team supporting a large-scale enterprise environment. This is a hands-on role responsible for both service delivery and project execution across the organizations global network environment. The ideal candidate will bring 35 years of experience, strong technical expertise in Cisco and Palo Alto technologies, and a desire to grow into increasing levels of responsibility.
This position is onsite and will involve limited travel to nearby regional campuses. Candidates must be able to participate in an on-call rotation.
Responsibilities
Provide support and administration for Palo Alto technologies including Firewall, Panorama, GlobalProtect VPN, URL Filtering, IoT Security, and Prisma.
Manage Cisco networking technologies including switching, routing (including SD-WAN), Cisco ISE for 802.1X/TACACS, DNA Center, Wireless, and ACI.
Deliver solutions for medium to high complexity projects and ongoing Run-the-Business (RTB) support.
Collaborate on cross-functional projects, gathering requirements, developing recommendations, and implementing solutions.
Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) by mentoring team members, sharing knowledge, and documenting best practices.
Support DNS, DHCP, and related services.
Create and maintain detailed network diagrams and documentation.
Required Skills
Minimum of three (3) years of professional IT experience in network engineering or a related area.
Hands-on expertise with Cisco networking technologies (routing, switching, wireless, security, etc.).
Experience with Palo Alto firewalls and related technologies.
Familiarity with enterprise-level networking environments.
Ability to travel regionally up to 15%.
Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
Industry certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, Palo Alto certifications, Network+, or ITIL Foundation.
Experience supporting IT within a manufacturing or enterprise-scale environment.
Proficiency with Microsoft Visio and Microsoft Office applications.
