We are looking for a motivated Service Technician to join our growing team!

JOB PURPOSE

The Service Technician is responsible for planning and executing service trips, performing in-field system repairs, and ensuring reliable operation through electrical wiring, mechanical assembly, and equipment testing. This role also provides technical support to customers, both remotely and on-site, while collaborating closely with the sales team to deliver high-quality service and maintain customer satisfaction.

SCHEDULE

Monday – Friday, 7:30AM – 4:00PM EST

 

  • Travel regularly to customer sites, with an expectation of 75–80% time spent away from the primary work location.

 As a Service Technician, hours may vary depending on service needs, and overtime is expected when traveling or supporting customer requirements. 

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITY SUMMARY

  • Plan and coordinate service trips with customers and the sales team.
  • Work with motors, fans, blowers, relays, timers, PLCs, and other industrial controls, including related mechanical systems 
  • Conduct electrical wiring, service work, and assembly tasks to support system functionality. _
  • Perform and document product performance and reliability testing in accordance with company standards.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and test equipment to ensure operational efficiency. 
  • Provide technical assistance to customers and support the sales staff through phone consultations and on-site visits. 
  • Travel to customer sites to service, repair, and maintain equipment. 
  • Execute additional duties as assigned to support operational and customer needs
Requirements:

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

  • High school diploma; a trades certificate or associate degree with three or more years of relevant experience is preferred.
  • Possess a minimum of three years’ experience in product assembly, field service, testing, maintenance, controls, or electro-mechanical systems.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in reading schematics, engineered drawings, and blueprints.
  • Prior field service experience is preferred
  • Demonstrate strong mechanical and electro-mechanical aptitude.
  • Knowledge of motors, pumps, pneumatics, hydraulics, blowers, electrical devices, and controls.
  • Familiarity with hand tools and small power tools is required.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, customers, and management.
  • Proficiency in Salesforce, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Expense Management systems is required.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with company standards.
  • Exhibit strong attention to detail and adherence to quality procedures.
  • Perform responsibilities with minimal to moderate supervision while responding promptly to business and customer demands.
  • Meet all legal and security requirements.
  • Hold a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Maintain a clean record without felony convictions for required security clearance.
  • Comply with background check and drug testing during onboarding and random intervals.
  • Demonstrate reliability, dependability, and consistent work habits.
  • Travel regularly to customer sites, with an expectation of 75–80% time spent away from the primary work location.
  • Must meet minimum age requirements (21-25 y/o) to rent a vehicle and/or book hotel rooms.

  • OMI Industries manufactures odor eliminating solutions. Chemical exposure to raw materials including plant oils, fragrances, and other materials will occur.
  • Continually required to stand.

  • Continually required to utilize hand and finger dexterity.
  • Frequently required to climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel or crawl.
  • Continually required to talk or hear.
  • Frequently/required to lift/push/carry items up to 75 pounds.
  • Occasionally exposure to wet and/or humid conditions (non-weather).
  • Continually work near moving mechanical parts.
  • Frequent exposure to outside weather conditions.
  • Occasionally loud noise (examples: metal can manufacturing, large earth-moving equipment).

$24 - 30 / hour depending on experience level
