Tank Trailer Mechanic at Trimac summary:

A Tank Trailer Mechanic performs preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs on trucks and tank trailers to ensure safety, compliance, and operational readiness. The role involves tire inspections, servicing vehicle systems, maintaining adherence to DOT regulations, and supporting shop operations in a safe and efficient manner. This position requires experience with trailer inspections, mechanical skills, and commitment to safety standards within a truck maintenance and tank cleaning environment.

Pay Details:

• Up to $32/hr(Based on experience)

Responsibilities:

• Assist with preventive maintenance on trucks and trailers while utilizing personal safety equipment as required.
• Move trucks in and out of the shop for maintenance
• Open repair orders and charge the appropriate parts to the repair order
• Perform tire inspections/appropriate paperwork to company standards
• Performs shop clean-up and housekeeping responsibilities as well as other miscellaneous related duties as assigned.
• Inspects and maintains basic vehicle/accessorial worthiness including proper fuel levels and tire air pressure, fluid levels, brakes, lights, and safety equipment, and submits reports indicating the condition of equipment.
• Possesses and demonstrates the ability to perform assigned tasks in a manner that adheres to the company's Safety, Health, Environmental, and Security policies.

Qualifications:

• Must have a valid driver’s license
• High School Diploma or GED
• 2 years of verifiable experience
• Trailer HM183 inspection experience required
• CDL-A with tanker & hazmat a plus before hire (will be required to obtain upon hire)
• Ability to provide own basic hand tools
• Basic computer skills
• Ability to read and comprehend service manuals
• Knowledge of tools and equipment used in the shop to repair and maintain company equipment
• A basic knowledge of tractor and trailer maintenance
• Knowledge of D.O.T. regulations and out-of-service parameters for tractors, trailers, and accessorial equipment.

• 11:00 pm- 7:30 am (will train on day shift then transition into shift requiring need)

Pay Range: Starting from USD $32.00/Hr.
