Dr. Amos Muhunda Nungu

Dr. Amos Muhunda Nungu is a Lecture, Researcher, and Consultant at the Dar Es Salaam Institute of Technology (DIT) in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. He has worked and researched in various areas of Information and Communication Technology for Development (ICT4D), especially in establishment of sustainable broadband markets (producers and consumers) in under-served areas. Particular areas of expertise include ICT for Development (ICT4D) in general, ICT innovations and solution development.
Dr. Nungu initiated, managed and participated in many projects, including those of EU/FP7 and H2020. He has been involved in various ICT initiatives in Tanzania and abroad, worked with various local and international organizations.
Amos holds various managerial and professional responsibilities. Currently, he is the Head of India -Tanzania Centre of Excellence in ICT (ITCoEICT) at DIT. In that capacity, he has initiated the establishment of a Masters course in Computational Science and Engineering to boost usage of the Supercomputer hosted at DIT.
He saves as a board member to SUA and OUT ICT Centers; also he is the interim Executive Secretary for Tanzania Education and Research Networks (TERNET).
Amos holds a PhD and MSc degrees in Information Technology (Communication Systems) from the Royal Institutes of Technology (KTH) - Sweden; and a BSc. In Computer Science from University of Dar Es Salaam.
